EEA EXPANDS CAPABILITIES WITH ACQUISITION

OF ENERGY NEXUS GROUP CONSULTING PRACTICE


I am pleased to announce the addition to EEA of a talented new group focused on services in the area of distributed energy resources and combined heat and power opportunities and challenges.


Dr. Bruce Hedman and Paul Bautista, formerly key members of Energy Nexus Group, Inc. (ENG), joined EEA on November 1st in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. Each brings significant expertise and experience in distributed energy resource (DER)/combined heat and power (CHP) markets, customers, systems, and issues to augment and complement EEA’s array of energy and environmental services.


Dr. Hedman and Bautista will fulfill ongoing ENG client commitments as part of EEA’s newly completed acquisition of the ENG East Coast consulting practice from ENG and its parent company, Onsite Energy Corporation. Active contributors to the DER/CHP knowledge base, they offer current and new clients a portfolio of skills focused on providing critical insights, information and leadership in:

OF ENERGY NEXUS GROUP CONSULTING PRACTICE



Dr. Hedman has over 25 years experience in energy and environmental technology development, new product commercialization, and market research and development. Dr. Hedman was formerly Vice President of Energy Nexus Group, Inc., and a Vice President at Onsite Energy Corporation. Dr. Hedman was Executive Director of the Industrial Center Inc., a natural gas industry technology transfer and market development organization. Prior to this, he was Senior Program Manager at Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratory’s Washington, D.C. offices, providing strategic planning and policy analysis support on natural gas issues and end-use research, development and commercialization. Dr. Hedman started his career at the Gas Research Institute (GRI) in Chicago, holding a variety of research management positions in power generation, alternative fueled vehicles and industrial end-use. When he left GRI in 1994, he was Group Manager, Industrial and Power Generation Products. Dr. Hedman is treasurer of the United States Combined Heat and Power Association and is an inductee in the American Gas Association's Industrial and Commercial Hall of Flame.


Dr. Hedman has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.



Mr. Bautista has over 14 years of experience in energy-related technology development, market analysis and product commercialization. Mr. Bautista was formerly Senior Manager with Energy Nexus Group, Inc. While at Energy Nexus, he led distributed energy market assessments for public and private clients. Prior to joining Energy Nexus’s parent company, Onsite Energy Corporation, Mr. Bautista was Program Team Leader for power generation at the Gas Research Institute (GRI) in Chicago. At GRI, he was responsible for product development programs in gas turbine, reciprocating engine, microturbine, and distributed generation technologies. Prior to GRI, Mr. Bautista was a Production and Program Engineer at GE Aircraft Engines in Lynn, Massachusetts. At GE, he coordinated a division-wide customer awareness program and provided engineering and technical support for advanced gas turbine engines.


Mr. Bautista holds a Masters degree in Management from Northwestern University and a Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
