AIR EMISSIONS REGULATIONS:
DE MINIMIS EXEMPTIONS (Must meet 1298) An engine firing natural gas or liquid petroleum gas and emitting less than 1 ton per year is exempt from permitting. Any unit with actual emissions greater than 1 ton per year of a criteria pollutant must be permitted. All sources must meet a 20% opacity requirement, but other limits will be determined on a case by case basis. Any controls will be required dependent on a health risk assessment. The district is currently considering some permitting guidance released by the state, but no decisions have been made.Permitting officials aim for permit completion within a month, but may take up to a year. There is no special treatment in place. |
