AIR EMISSIONS REGULATIONS:

Air Quality Status

The county is in serious nonattainment for PM-10 standards.
EPA's Nonattainment Areas

Major Source Threshold

70 tons of PM, 100 tons of CO, NOx or VOCs triggers NSR. 250 tons of any other criteria pollutant triggers PSD

Minor Source Permitting Exemption

Less than 2 lbs/day of any criteria pollutant.

Minor Source Treatment

BACT

Emergency Generating Limits

None

DE MINIMIS EXEMPTIONS

Sources with the potential to emit less than an annual average of 2 lbs/day of any criteria pollutant and less than 1 lb/day of any hazardous air pollutants on a facility-wide basis are exempt from the permitting requirements.

MINOR SOURCE PERMITTING

Sources that have a potential to emit greater than 125 pounds per day of any criteria pollutant trigger LAER. Sources with potential daily emissions between 10 and 125 pounds per day trigger BACT.

TREATMENT OF EMERGENCY ENGINES

There is no special treatment for emergency engines, however applicants generally take an hourly restriction to avoid BACT.
